The Biology and Chemistry Labs are fully equipped to support hands-on IV Lab research, with a primary focus on developing improved diagnostic tools for infectious disease and novel technology to alleviate agricultural challenges in the developing world. The diverse skill set of the Biotechnology Research Platform includes biochemistry, chemical engineering, entomology, immunology, molecular biology, nanotechnology and organic chemistry.
Biology + Chemistry tools and equipment include:
IV Lab is developing an artificially manufactured mosquito food to help scientists and health programs raise mosquitoes effectively.
IV Lab is developing novel optical detection methods for automated identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Our 200 square foot Insectary houses species from both the Aedes and Anopheles mosquito genera.
